A free and confidential service

For survivors of sexual abuse

Posted: 25 October 2019 · Practice news

Hear Me Counselling Services is a free and confidential service for survivors of sexual abuse. We provide counselling for survivors aged 8+ which include face to face, counselling by telephone, outreach counselling (where we come to you) and counselling outdoors for the adult service.

All of our counsellors work according to Hear Me's code of practice, which incorporate the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) Ethical Framework.

What can you talk about...?

You can talk about whatever matters to you. Here are some examples of things other people have talked about:

  • feeling depressed or anxious
  • flashbacks
  • difficulty sleeping
  • hearing voices
  • feeling suicidal

We also have a support worker who works along side our counsellors offering a facilitated care pathway to ensure a seamless transition for survivors between services depending on needs and preferences of individuals. And additional support with help to access community/health, wellbeing activities/ volunteering/education and help to find work.
