July Awareness Campaigns

Every month the Academy Medical Centre Patient Participation Group raises awareness of some of the health and wellbeing campaigns running nationally and worldwide.

The following campaigns are running in July:

• World Hepatitis Day (Sunday 28 July): Worldwide, 300 million people are living with viral hepatitis unaware. Without finding the undiagnosed and linking them to care, millions will continue to suffer, and lives will be lost. On World Hepatitis Day, 28 July, the World Hepatitis Alliance calls on people from across the world to take action and raise awareness to find the "missing millions". • 'Talk To Us', the Samaritans annual awareness-raising campaign (throughout July): Every July, Samaritans branches across the UK and Ireland hold local events to talk about the services they offer in their communities. Talk to Us is one of the ways the Samaritans raise awareness that they're for anyone who needs someone to listen, 24/7, without judgement or pressure. The hash tag for sharing is #TalkToUs. You can get involved and raise awareness by talking about the campaigns, tweeting or sharing on social media, or by donating and pledging your support.

The Academy Medical Centre PPG has worked with the practice since 2010 to enhance the delivery of primary care services in a number of areas.
