From your Patient Participation Group (PPG)
Every month the Academy Medical Centre Patient Participation Group raises awareness of some of the health and wellbeing campaigns running nationally and worldwide.
The PPG would like to highlight the following campaigns in February:
- February is HEART month. GO RED for NATIONAL HEART MONTH: Look out for ways to reduce your risk of heart disease. There are many leaflets on the desk in the foyer of the practice e.g healthy eating, reduce weight, increase exercise, stop smoking. You can also visit the British Heart Foundation website.
- MENTAL HEALTH FOR CHILDREN is also promoted this month: Visit the Mental Health Foundation website and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) for information for parents and carers. Also visit Young Minds.
You can get involved and raise awareness by talking about the campaigns, tweeting or sharing on social media, or by donating, fundraising and pledging your support.

The Academy Medical Centre PPG has worked with the practice since 2010 to enhance the delivery of primary care services in a number of areas.
